All Things Louisiana 393 Hwy 171, Moss Bluff, 337-884-4440
Moss Bluff, if you haven’t heard, you’re sitting on a little gem when it comes to comfort food.
The moment I saw a social media post with a picture of All Things Louisiana’s salad, I wasted no time in getting there. To avoid having to cook one evening, I mentioned to my wife that I’d be picking up dinner.
Now, Louisiana has a love/love relationship with gas stations that include food establishments, and that won’t change any time soon.
All Things Louisiana has its own dining room, entrance and kitchen beside the Valero gas station, And the menu includes lots of options. On my visit, I was greeted by a sweet lady who I can only assume is Miss ATL.
She was all business and was ready to get my order moving in the kitchen as soon as I gave it to her. Perusing the menu, I saw burgers, poboys, stuffed potatoes, chicken tenders and a variety of seasoned wings, crawfish étouffée and much more.
Knowing I’d be ordering the grilled fish and shrimp salad, I figured an order of wings would be a good choice, also, as the ride home was going to take a little time. Miss ATL suggested I take advantage of the 12-piece wing special.
When I picked up my order, I knew from its weight that this place doesn’t skimp on portions. It took a lot of restraint not to tear into that bag and sneak a wing or two. Willpower for the win.
“Shyla and I opened the lids to a feast. The salad was piled high and loaded. An entire grilled fish filet, seasoned grilled shrimp, bacon, sliced deli ham, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded cheese and— and they still found room to pile lettuce and baby spinach in there.”
I couldn’t wait to get inside the house to see if the salad is as good as the picture I had seen the day before. Standing side by side, Shyla and I opened the lids to a feast. The salad was piled high and loaded. An entire grilled fish filet, seasoned grilled shrimp, bacon, sliced deli ham, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded cheese and— and they still found room to pile lettuce and baby spinach in there.
Shyla and I have different tastes and preferences when it comes to wing flavors. With the many sauces and options we have at home, the regular fried wings were an easy choice. The golden brown wings and fries were both still hot and crisp after the ride; they were even better the next day, like cold chicken at a picnic.
There is a caveat. All Things Louisiana has tailored hours and days of operation, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, and then again from 4;30 to 7 pm. If you’re wanting to check out all they have to offer, you may want to call ahead.
